Abstract

THE Egypt Exploration Society's Survey of Memphis (EES/SoM) field season ran from 7 September to 9 October 2004, staff members being David Jeffreys (field director), Janine Bourriau (ceramics), Judith Bunbury (geologist), Amelia Fairman (archaeologist), Rowena Hart (surveyor), Elizabeth Jones (archaeologist), and Paul Nicholson (field director). We thank all the officers of the Supreme Council for Antiquities (SCA) who have helped us this season: Zahi Hawass (Secretary General), Magdi el-Ghandour (Head of Foreign Expeditions Section), Kamal Wahid (Director of Saqqara) and Usama al-Shimi (Chief Inspector, Saqqara), Adil Abd al-Halim Mohammed (Director of Mit Rahina), and this year's inspectors attached to the project, Adil Ragab Ali and Abd al-Ghaffar Abd al-Minim Ahmad.
