Abstract

The mechanical properties of Earth materials are closely connected with tectonic and seismic properties. In particular, the anelasticity of minerals at high temperature and pressure is a potential mechanism for seismic attenuation. It is therefore important to understand the mechanical behaviour of minerals when considering implications in geophysics.
