Abstract
Abstract. An integrated X-ray rocking diffractometer and calorimeter had been developed. The diffractometer is based on a high intensity X-ray source and a position sensitive detector. The calorimeter uses two fluxmeters connected to a thermal reservoir, and ramps the sample temperature continuously between 10 K and room temperature. This system allows the thermal and structural anomalies associated with structural phase transitions to be recorded simultaneously, allowing comparisons to be made without ambiguities from independent apparatus having slightly different temperature calibrations. The system has been tested by studying the ferroelectric phase transition in KD2PO4.
